Accessibility Statement
1. Our Commitment
SubPro, operated by Let's BJJ Inc., is committed to making its platform accessible to people with disabilities. We design and build the service with the goal of conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the Level AA success criteria, and we recognize our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and equivalent regulations in other jurisdictions in which tenants operate.
2. Conformance Status
The WCAG 2.1 standard defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. SubPro is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully meet the accessibility standard.
Known limitations are listed in the next section. We are actively working to remediate these.
3. Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content on the platform may not be fully accessible. We are aware of the following areas where improvement is in progress as of the last review date:
- Video player keyboard navigation. The video seek bar is exposed as a WAI-ARIA slider and is fully keyboard-operable: Right arrow seeks +5 seconds and Left arrow seeks -5 seconds; Up arrow seeks +10 seconds and Down arrow seeks -10 seconds; PageUp seeks +30 seconds and PageDown seeks -30 seconds; Home jumps to the start and End jumps to the end; Space or the K key (upper or lower case) toggles play/pause. All icon-only player controls (close, play/pause, volume, fullscreen, playback speed, favorite) expose accessible names via
aria-label. Advanced controls (A-B repeat, mirror mode, speed cycling) are tab-reachable but do not yet have dedicated keyboard shortcuts — this is planned for a future release. Subtitles (machine-generated dialogue transcripts) are available where the uploader has provided audio. True captions (with speaker labels and non-speech audio descriptions for D/HoH users) are not yet provided; see "Video subtitles vs. captions" below. - Video subtitles vs. captions. SubPro auto-generates subtitles from uploaded video audio via speech-to-text transcription. Per W3C/WCAG terminology, these are intralingual subtitles (dialogue transcripts) rather than full captions: they do not include speaker labels, sound effects, or non-speech audio descriptions, and therefore do not by themselves provide complete access for users who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HoH). Tenants can submit correction reports, but tenant-provided VTT/SRT upload (which would allow tenants to supply true captions) is not yet available, and machine-generated subtitle accuracy varies with audio quality. We disclose this distinction transparently rather than label automated transcripts as "captions".
- Theme-level color contrast. SubPro supports 17 tenant themes. The default theme meets WCAG AA contrast minimums. Tenant-customized themes may introduce contrast issues; we are auditing each theme in turn.
- Third-party content. Embedded content from Stripe (checkout), Mux (video delivery), and Google (OAuth) is governed by those providers' own accessibility policies.
4. Compatibility
SubPro is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, TalkBack on Android
- The latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari
- Operating-system-level keyboard navigation, voice control, and text zoom up to 200%
SubPro is not designed to be compatible with:
- Internet Explorer (any version)
- Browser or operating-system versions older than two years, where manufacturer support has ended
5. Technical Specifications
Accessibility of SubPro relies on the following technologies working in combination with the user's browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed:
- HTML5
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
6. Assessment Approach
Let's BJJ Inc. assesses the accessibility of SubPro by the following approaches:
- Self-evaluation using automated tooling (axe-core, Lighthouse) during development and before material releases
- Manual keyboard-only and screen-reader testing of member-facing flows on the default theme each quarter
- User feedback via the channel described below
A third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit is planned but has not yet been commissioned.
7. Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of SubPro. Please let us know if you encounter accessibility barriers:

8. Formal Complaints
If your feedback is not addressed to your satisfaction, you may be entitled to pursue a formal complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act or the equivalent regulation in your jurisdiction. In the United States, complaints can be filed with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at https://www.ada.gov/filing-complaint/.
9. Tenant Responsibilities
SubPro is a multi-tenant platform. Each tenant (studio, academy, or dojo owner) is responsible for the accessibility of content they upload, including:
- Providing text alternatives (alt text, captions, transcripts) for media they upload
- Using readable contrast and legible typography in custom theme settings
- Writing link text and headings that convey meaning in context
Platform-level UI, navigation, authentication, and video playback controls remain our responsibility.
